Job summary

Glen Park Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician to assist elderly residents with daily living activities within the care facility in Glendale, CA. The role involves supporting residents, managing medications, and helping with meals and activities.

Responsibilities include administering medications, maintaining records, and participating in ongoing in-service training. Training on dementia care and IPP progression is provided to support specialized resident needs.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Six months of prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Able to pass a physical exam and a criminal record review.
• Current training in first aid and CPR.

Job Summary:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
2. Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen residents.
3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
4. Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
5. May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.), and chemical hazards.

SPECIAL SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE JOB

1. Have the personal characteristics, physical energy, and competence to work effectively with older residents, families, and staff.
2. Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
3. Basic understanding of medical terminology.
