Job summary

Glen-Park-Senior-Living in Glendale, CA seeks a Medication Technician to assist elderly and residents with daily living activities in the care facility.

You will administer medications, support meal service, participate in training, and help with dementia and developmental disability care; the role requires first aid/CPR training and a caring, patient-focused approach.

Qualifications

2. Order medications, dispense medications, and maintain medication administration records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
2. Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen residents.
3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
4. Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
5. May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.), and chemical hazards.

SPECIAL SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE JOB

1. Have the personal characteristics, physical energy, and competence to work effectively with older residents, families, and staff.
2. Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
3. Basic understanding of medical terminology.
