Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN, is seeking a CAD Designer II to join the Electrophysiology (EP) team. You will support engineers with CAD models and drawings for medical devices, fixtures, and tooling in a fast-paced environment.

Under moderate supervision, you will generate 3D models in SolidWorks, ensure standards compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust designs and documentation.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or Associate degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting.
• 3+ years of experience as a Drafter/Designer.
• Experience with SolidWorks 2023 or later.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed drawings of concepts.
• Apply industry drafting standards to drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize designs.
• Maintain CAD files in data systems.
• Process engineering change requests.
• Possibly perform dimensioning and tolerance analyses.
• Possibly run basic virtual analysis.
