Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Unit Coordinator (CNA/UC) to join the unit-based patient care team. You will perform direct patient care tasks including activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKGs, weights and intake/output data collection, while also handling transport, restocking and unit coordination.

The role involves responding to patient and family needs, supporting efficient unit operations, and performing clerical duties within hospital

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing patient care, good organizational skills, personal maturity, accuracy and flexibility.
• Previous knowledge of medical terminology, typing, computer skills and Unit Secretary experience preferred
• Successful completion of orientation
• Proficient in English
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability, creating a favorable image in relationship to the Nursing Department and the hospital as a whole
• Ability to perform simple math calculations
• Develop and maintain positive relationships across all areas of responsibility
• Demonstrate commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and preventing error from reaching the patient
• Provides timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including patients, families, co-workers and physicians

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care tasks including activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKGs, weights and intake/output data collection.
• Perform indirect care tasks such as transportation, restocking and obtaining patient care supplies.
• Respond to patient and family needs in a timely manner and support efficient unit operation.
• Handle clerical, receptionist and unit coordinating duties on patient care units.
