Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Unit Coordinator (CNA/UC) to join the unit-based patient care team. You will perform direct patient care including ADLs, vital signs, glucometry, EKGs, weights and I&O data collection, and indirect duties like transport and restocking.

You will also handle clerical and coordination tasks on the units. Applicants should have a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, and be proficient in English.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing patient care, good organizational skills, personal maturity, accuracy and flexibility.
• Previous knowledge of medical terminology, typing, computer skills and Unit Secretary experience preferred.
• Successful completion of orientation.
• Proficient in English.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability, creating a favorable image in relationship to the Nursing Department and the hospital as a whole.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships across all areas of responsibility.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and preventing error from reaching the patient.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care tasks including activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKGs, weights and intake/output data collection.
• Perform indirect patient care activities such as transport, restocking and obtaining patient care supplies.
• Respond timely to needs of patients and families and support unit operations.
• Carry out clerical, receptionist and unit coordinating duties on patient care units.
