Job summary

RPC Company in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medium Voltage Test Technician to perform MV switchgear testing and sign-off in a single-location, first-shift role. The position involves direct-hire employment with full benefits and MV-specific testing experience for data centers.

The candidate will conduct final tests, coordinate relay testing, and document results for shipment-ready units, ensuring quality and compliance across all MV switchgear tests.

Qualifications

• Medium voltage testing experience at 1kV+ (4.16kV, 12kV, 13.8kV, 34.5kV).
• Experience with NETA acceptance testing or commissioning on MV switchgear, data center commissioning preferred.
• Familiar with megohmmeters, micro-ohmmeters, partial discharge detectors, and relay test sets.

Responsibilities

• Final MV switchgear test and sign-off before shipment — insulation resistance testing, dielectric withstand (hipot) testing, contact resistance testing on breaker contacts, partial discharge testing, relay coordination testing, and full documentation on every unit.
