Job summary

RPC Company seeks an experienced electrical test technician to conduct factory acceptance and QA testing of low- and medium-voltage distribution equipment. You will verify performance, document results, and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities include evaluating relay operations, maintaining accurate test records, and supporting continuous improvement in testing methods while adhering to NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or servicing low- and medium-voltage electrical power distribution equipment.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets, insulation resistance testers, dielectric testers, DMMs, timing analyzers, and injection testers.
• Strong understanding of switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, construction drawings, and one-line diagrams.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex electrical issues.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct factory acceptance and QA testing on low- and medium-voltage distribution equipment.
• Test equipment performance, functionality, and reliability.
• Evaluate relay operation and protection settings.
• Document test procedures, results, and corrective actions with accuracy.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and identify root causes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methods and quality processes.
• Maintain safety practices including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
