Job summary

SpaceX’s Power Generation team seeks an Electrical Technician to operate and maintain plant electrical systems at the Memphis/Southaven facility. You will work hands-on with medium-voltage equipment up to 34.8 kV, performing switching, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to keep systems reliably powered.

This on-site role demands rigorous safety practices, adherence to LOTO and NFPA 70E standards, and strong communication as you coordinate with operations, controls, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman electrician license or equivalent preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and O&M manuals.
• Experience with NFPA 70E and arc-flash safety practices.
• 3+ years maintaining industrial or power generation electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant electrical systems up to 13.5 kV and 34.8 kV.
• Perform switching, LOTO, and breaker maintenance per procedures.
• Troubleshoot faults using diagrams and test equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability.
• Support startups, outages, and commissioning activities.
• Install and terminate control wiring and cable for operations.
• Respond to alarms and participate in root-cause investigations.
• Coordinate switching with operations and engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate work orders and documentation.
• Follow safety, PPE, and arc-flash requirements on energized equipment.
