Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Warren State Hospital, is seeking a Medium Voltage Electrician to support safe and reliable power systems across the facility. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage equipment, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualified candidates will have five years of journey-level electrical experience or an equivalent combination, a valid PA driver’s license, and PA residency.

Qualifications

• Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant certifications and clearances as required.
• PA residency requirement for employment.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
• Ability to perform essential job functions as described.

Responsibilities

• Medium Voltage Work: Install, maintain, and repair switch gear, transformers, and distribution panels.
• Generator Maintenance: Conduct weekly preventive maintenance and test runs on emergency standby generators.
• System Monitoring: Check substation instruments, monitor switchboards, and interpret readings to maintain performance.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Use blueprints, diagrams, tools, and testing instruments to locate and solve electrical problems.
• Safety Compliance: Follow NFPA 70E rules and facility policies when working on electrical systems.
• Equipment Operation: Operate lift trucks or bucket trucks to perform electrical repairs on outdoor lighting.
