Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an experienced High Voltage Electrician to ensure reliable electrical power distribution across the Harrisburg area, including the Capitol Complex and regional offices. You will operate and maintain high-voltage systems up to 66,000 volts, perform emergency repairs, and support field operations daily.

Required credentials include a High Voltage Electrician Training program completion, six years of journey-level experience with 18 months in high voltage

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a High Voltage Electrician Training program.
• Six years of journey-level electrical experience, including eighteen months in high voltage work.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
• Must hold a Master Electrician License from the City of Harrisburg.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, install, and maintain electrical machinery, devices, and equipment using specialized instruments and adjusting components based on readings.
• Make critical changes during breakdowns and repair hot electrical systems while following safety procedures.
• Clean, troubleshoot, and repair control equipment, meters, and generators using diagrams and tools.
• Monitor switchboards, control electrical generation and the distribution of electrical power, and adjust controls per procedures.
• Drive to worksites and work at heights in confined spaces.
• Install and fix variable frequency drives and use computers and smartphones for communication and tasks.
