Border International in El Paso, TX is hiring a Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specs.

Qualifications

• College or Technical school training preferred.
• Two to four years related experience preferred; or equivalent.
• Commercial Driver's License - Class B required; Class A preferred.
• Must own a set of basic mechanic's hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined by leadership with efficiency and accuracy per dealership and factory standards.
• Completes outfitting for new vehicles per dealer and customer specifications.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Reports machinery defects to supervisor.
• Ensures vehicle and shop area are kept clean and organized.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
• Complies with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.).
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

The Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck Technician (Diesel Technician) will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Performs work as outlined by leadership team with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Completes outfitting for new vehicles based on dealer and customer specifications.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

Education & Experience:

• College or Technical school training (Preferred).
• Two to four years related experience (Preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commercial Driver's License - Class B (Required). Class A (Preferred).
• Must own set of basic mechanic's hand tools (Required).
