Job summary

Tom's Truck Center in Santa Ana, CA is seeking skilled Commercial Truck Technicians to service medium and heavy duty diesel vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and coordinate parts and estimates with the parts department to ensure timely completion.

We value strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on diagnostics, maintenance, and safety checks. A dealership background is preferred and ASE certifications are a plus, along with a valid license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with diagnostics and maintenance.
• Diesel truck experience in Isuzu, Hino, Fuso, or Ford.
• Dealership service experience preferred; ASE certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs work on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy per dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses malfunctions and executes repairs.
• Communicates with parts to obtain needed items and estimates.
• Saves and tags parts as requested or under warranty.
• Assesses vehicles for further safety or service needs.
• Notifies service advisor if additional work is required or timing changes.
• Documents all work on repair orders and reports.
• Road tests vehicles as required.

Job description

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Commercial Truck Technicians to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience servicing various types of medium duty commercial vehicles and possess a strong mechanical knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts and estimates.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor/dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.
• Must have medium and /or heavy duty diesel truck experience in all or one: Isuzu, Hino, Fuso, or Ford.
• Dealership Service experience preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Full time work schedule.
• Valid Driver License and clean driving record.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen.
