MEDICATION TECHNICIAN - THE KEMPTON OF ROCK HILL
Liberty Senior Living is seeking an experienced Medication Technician for a Full-Time, Evening position.
Job Summary:
- Perform duties ethically, demonstrating good leadership skills.
- Receive and document physician orders, manage medication inventory, and administer medications according to policies.
- Assume additional duties within your professional certification scope.
- Work as a certified nursing assistant or personal care aide after on-site training.
- Maintain ongoing education to meet state requirements through workshops, classes, and online training.
- Perform procedures such as vital signs, enemas, and suppositories.
- Follow infection control and hazardous chemical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and residents’ families.
- Monitor residents’ health, report changes immediately, and perform emergency procedures as needed.
- Document resident records accurately in EMR.
- Assist in care planning and delivery, ensuring residents’ dignity and safety.
- Report medication errors promptly and adhere to shift change procedures for controlled substances.
- Follow all policies, work dependably, and communicate appropriately with residents, families, and staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of Medication Technician/Aide coursework and validation in the state of practice.
- At least 6 months of experience as a Medication Technician.
- Attention to detail and adherence to policies.
- Must be 18 or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- In good standing with the state healthcare registry, with no findings of abuse or neglect.
- Genuine concern for geriatric residents and ability to follow orders.
- Willingness to work cooperatively with the care team and community members.
- Respectful and kind demeanor toward residents, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to use equipment safely and efficiently.
- Wearing approved uniform and maintaining good personal hygiene.
- Knowledge of and compliance with community policies and procedures.
