Job summary

Frontier Senior Living's Callaway Gardens community in Kennewick, WA seeks a Medication Technician with active CNA or HCA certification. The role requires accurate medication administration, charting, and collaboration with the care team to support residents. Shifts include full-time 2:00 PM–10:00 PM and part-time 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Active CNA and/or HCA certification in Washington state.
• Legible, accurate medication documentation in MARs and charts.
• Proficiency in English and willingness to train in front-line resident care.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per schedule and protocol.
• Maintain and update medication records and resident charts.
• Notify care coordinators and RN of changes in condition.
• Assist with monthly medication records and med room restocking.
• Take accurate vital signs and assist with resident transfers as needed.
• Work as needed for receptionist or caregiver duties and duties of on-duty manager.

This position requires legible, accurate documentation on the medication record and in the resident chart. The Medication Technician position requires a responsible demeanor, caring nature and ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Administers the medications and treatments, according to the scheduled times, following the medication administration protocolMaintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employee’s informationNotifies Resident Care Coordinator /Executive Director/RN of resident changes of conditionAssists with monthly medication records as neededMaintains the cleanliness, organization, and restocking of the Med room and Med cartHas knowledge of, and can demonstrate proper technique, or can learn how to assist with: a gait belt, sit to stand lift, transfer board, oxygen equipment, C-Pap, Nebulizer, catheter, specimen, transfer pole, trapeze, wheelchair, scale, and other equipment as directed by the Resident Care Coordinator /RNCapable of taking accurate vital signs and weightsFill-in for the receptionist as directed by Executive Director/Resident Care CoordinatorFill in for a caregiver when neededCapable of assisting in care needs of residents, which might include lifting requirements up to 40 poundsWork as manager on duty as directed by Executive Director/ Resident Care CoordinatorKeep current on First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration skillsPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor or other management staffFrontier Senior Living offers a competitive salary and a work environment that encourages initiative and fosters respect.
