The MedTech Caregiver administers medications and treatments, measures vital signs and weight, and performs other health services tasks. They collaborate with physicians, implement physician orders, and document relevant information. They work closely with home health, hospice, and emergency protocols. They may act as the facility supervisor when management is absent and supervise resident assistants to ensure daily duties are completed. Reports directly to the Facility Registered Nurse or the Administrator.

Medication Technician (MedTech) Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

• Perform all responsibilities within the scope of practice per state regulations
• Administer medications and treatments
• Measure vital signs and weight
• Collect, store, and transport specimens for laboratory studies
• Follow medication room policies and procedures

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Completion of required state training, if applicable

Requirements:

• Must receive the annual flu vaccine unless exempted for medical or religious reasons

Physical Demands:

• Regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, and sitting for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects or people over 50 lbs
• Sustained attention to safety, detail, and accuracy
• Genuine compassion for older adults and their families, demonstrating team spirit and integrity
