Job summary

Artis Senior Living of Palm Coast is seeking a Medication Technician to join our caring team. You will administer medications, document changes, and ensure safety and accuracy in a supportive, resident-focused environment.

Responsibilities include observing resident status related to medications, maintaining proper storage, assisting with daily activities, and driving safety. The role requires a high school diploma and relevant certifications; competitive benefits and a strong team culture are

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and record the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Observe, document, and communicate changes in resident status to nurses and/or administration related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects.
  • Monitor medications to ensure accountability during order, receipt, administration and shift changes as required by policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Store medications in a safe and accurate manner per policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety.
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, grooming, and eating; assist with transportation to dining and programs; perform personal and household chores.
  • May provide transportation to medical appointments outside the community with pre-approved authorization.
  • Answer resident call signals promptly; offer comfort and support.
  • Respond to emergency calls and correct environmental hazards in a timely and safe manner.
  • Observe community safety policies and confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire and safety regulations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide certification
First Aid/CPR certification

Job description

Starting pay is $16 / hour!

This is a full-time position offering a schedule on 1st shift (7am-3pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7am)! Every other weekend is required!

How You'll Contribute

At Artis Senior Living, we’re honored to serve families in our vibrant and welcoming communities, and we’re looking for a Medication Technician ready to work with heart.

The Medication Technician will:

  • Administer and record the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Observe, document, and effectively communicate changes in resident status to nurses and/or administration that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects.
  • Monitor medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the facility, administered and at change of shift as required by policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Store medications in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety. Report any equipment or supply issues to the Licensed Nurse for correction or repair.
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, grooming, and eating according to their individual service plan. Assist with transportation to dining room for meal service and/or to Program Services programs within the community. Assist with personal and household chores such as tidying up rooms, errands, delivering mail and newspaper.
  • May provide transportation to medical appointments outside of the community, with pre-approved authorization.
  • Answer resident call signals promptly. Offer comfort and support, emotionally and physically.
  • Respond to emergency calls, resident/visitor’s requests and correct environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate and safe manner.
  • Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service.
  • Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to all Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire and safety regulations at all times, to ensure the safety and well-being of all community residents.
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
How You'll Succeed
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Medication Partner (RMP) certificate preferred.
  • CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide certification is required.
  • Fulfilland maintain continuing education credits as required by State.
  • Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.
