Job summary

Artis Senior Living in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Medication Technician to join our caring team on the 2pm–10pm shift. The role requires weekend availability and involves administering medications, resident monitoring, and supporting daily living activities.

Starting pay is $23 per hour with benefits including medical/dental/vision plans, paid holidays, PTO, 401(k) with match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• RMP certificate preferred.
• CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide certification preferred.
• Fulfilling and maintaining continuing education credits as required by State.
• Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer and record medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Observe, document, and communicate changes in resident status related to medications.
• Monitor medications to ensure accountability from order to administration.
• Store medications safely per policies and regulations.
• Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies for resident safety.
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, grooming, and eating; assist transportation to meal service and programs.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments outside the community as pre-approved.
• Answer resident call signals promptly and offer comfort and support.
• Respond to emergencies and safety concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Registered Medication Partner (RMP) certificate

CNA / Caregiver / Home Health Aide certification

First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)

How You'll Contribute

At Artis Senior Living, we’re honored to serve families in our vibrant and welcoming communities, and we’re looking for a Medication Technician ready to work with heart.

The Medication Technician will:

• Administer and record the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
• Observe, document, and effectively communicate changes in resident status to nurses and/or administration that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects.
• Monitor medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the facility, administered and at change of shift as required by policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
• Store medications in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable state/federal regulations.
• Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety. Report any equipment or supply issues to the Licensed Nurse for correction or repair.
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, grooming, and eating according to their individual service plan. Assist with transportation to dining room for meal service and/or to Program Services programs within the community. Assist with personal and household chores such as tidying up rooms, errands, delivering mail and newspaper.
• May provide transportation to medical appointments outside of the community, with pre-approved authorization.
• Answer resident call signals promptly. Offer comfort and support, emotionally and physically.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident/visitor’s requests and correct environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate and safe manner.
• Observe community policies and procedures regarding resident and team member safety, attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, and resident service.
• Maintain professionalism and resident confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere to all Infection Prevention, OSHA, fire and safety regulations at all times, to ensure the safety and well-being of all community residents.
• Perform all other duties as requested.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Medication Partner (RMP) certificate preferred.
• CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide certification is preferred, but not required.
