Summary:

In this role, you will provide excellent hands-on care to our residents daily. The Med Tech will deliver timely medication, observe, document, and report resident status, and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of our residents in accordance with company procedures and standards. You will perform various other resident-focused tasks as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and promotes SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and staff, with respect and kindness.
- Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.
- Assists with ADLs, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
- Interacts with residents at all care levels with empathy, kindness, and respect.
- Observes and reports any changes in residents' health and emotional well-being daily.
- Serves and assists residents during meals.
- Initiates and participates in leisure activities as per the activity calendar.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
- Performs daily housekeeping duties following established schedules.
- Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Responds promptly and courteously to resident requests and inquiries from families and visitors.
- Communicates effectively in a language residents understand.
- Ensures residents or responsible parties sign out when residents leave the community.
- Maintains a safe environment, practicing good body mechanics and safety habits.
- Reports safety hazards immediately.
- Assists colleagues as needed and follows emergency policies and procedures.
- Acts as an essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather, reporting or remaining until released.
- Works collaboratively with team members and management.
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude at all times.
- Adheres to attendance policies and participates in training and meetings.
- Wears appropriate attire as per dress code.
- Refrains from discussing resident care issues with outsiders, referring inquiries to supervisors.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Assists in training and mentoring new staff.
- Takes initiative and seeks additional responsibilities and solutions.
- Performs housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
- Ability to read, interpret safety and operational instructions, and communicate effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling medication and measurements.
- Ability to apply common sense and deal with practical situations.
- Knowledge of word processing and electronic medical records preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, or 1-2 years related experience, or equivalent.
- Valid Medication Technician (Med-Tech) certification.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and sometimes lift/move up to 50 pounds. May need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
