Job summary

Rivers Edge Nursing & Rehab is seeking a Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our team and administer medications to residents according to physician orders and established protocols. The role includes monitoring vital signs, performing routine resident checks, and documenting care accurately.

The ideal candidate will hold a High school diploma or equivalent and a Medication Technician certification (CMT) or be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire; healthcare experience is preferred,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Medication Technician certification (CMT) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Previous healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, using aseptic techniques and following protocols.
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse).
• Conduct routine checks on residents to ensure well-being.
• Report changes to nursing staff and physicians.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care.

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, using aseptic techniques and following established protocols
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Conduct routine checks on residents to ensure their physical and emotional well-being
• Report any changes or concerns to nursing staff and physicians
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication administration and resident care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medication Technician certification (CMT) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or related field preferred
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
