Job summary

Country Meadows Retirement Communities in Wyomissing is seeking a Medication Technician to advance their caregiving career. You will manage medications for residents in a home-like setting, build relationships, and support overall health.

This FT shift 3pm-11pm includes every other weekend and holiday. Prerequisites include prior Med Tech/assisted-care experience and a HS diploma; CPR and first aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior direct-care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR and first aid preferred.
• Must understand and speak English sufficiently for safe work.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents, administering medications and treatments, observing well-being.
• Provide social and emotional support, encouraging independence.
• Manage the medication cart for up-to-date supplies and quality control.
• Assist residents with daily routines (bathing, dressing, toileting).

Medication Technician Responsibilities

• Engage with residents, getting to know them personally while administering medications and treatments, observing their day-to-day behavior and outlook and ensuring their comfort and overall positive well-being.
• Provide social and emotional support, while encouraging residents’ independence.
• Manage the medication cart for complete, up-to-date supplies and quality control.
• Help our residents live their lives to the fullest by assisting them with their routines (Bathing, Dressing, Toileting) throughout their day.

Medication Technician Requirements

• Prior direct-care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR and first aid preferred.
• Respect for patient rights and confidentiality.
• Up-to-date medication certification requirements preferred.
• Highly organized skills.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
• Have the ability to understand and speak English at a level which allows the safe, efficient performance of the job.
