Qualifications

  • Assists with participation in social activities.
  • Assists at admission and helps residents acclimate to new community.
  • Observe and report changes in residents to supervisor.
  • Respond to residents' needs promptly; support mental impairments as needed.
  • Communicates with teammates across shifts.
  • Takes part in infection control in all care aspects.
  • Prioritizes resident confidentiality.
  • Works beyond 8 hours when necessary; potential overtime.

Medication Technician Starting at $16.00 per hour

Vineyard Assisted Living in Texas Corners, MI

The primary purpose of this important position is to assist residents with activities of daily living, foster independence and encourage participation in meaningful activities. Resident Care Aide should be patient, flexible, and gentle, have a sense of humor and be able to have fun.

Responsibilities
  • Assists residents with personal care needs, i.e. bathing, dressing, ambulating, transferring, toileting, fall prevention, daily reminders, etc.
  • Assists residents with participation in social activities
  • Assists residents at time of admission and helps familiarize them to their new community
  • Demonstrates an attitude of positivity and cooperation toward residents, guests and teammates
  • Utilizes infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care
  • Observes residents and notes any changes in physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc., reporting to the Director of Resident Care or Shift Supervisor on duty
  • Be alert to the needs of residents and ready to respond
  • Have the ability to work with residents with mental impairments that exhibit sexual comments and profanity.
  • Be exposed to bodily fluids from that of Residents.
  • Communicates effectively with teammates and subsequent shifts
  • Treats all resident information as confidential
  • Attends required in-services and staff meetings as scheduled
  • Work longer than an 8 hour shift
  • May be required to work overtime in an emergency situation or back up absent staff.
  • Works cooperatively with teammates on flexible scheduling aimed at preventing absenteeism and promoting continuity of care

Employees working as described will be required to be on their feet much of their shift, bending, stooping, turning and stretching. They may need to perform some heavy lifting over 50 pounds. Assistive devices will be available as needed.

Opportunity for Medication Technician role is offered once the Director of Resident Care determines that performance as a Resident Care Aide is adequate. This can be as early as 2 weeks after beginning as a RCA. Requirements would consist of passing a fifty question test with 80% or higher passing rate.
