Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Hayden, Idaho is seeking a Medication Technician/Care Partner on the NOC shift to lead compassionate, compliant medication delivery and to coordinate with the RCC and Administrator for scheduling.

You will guide Care Partners, model kindness and accountability, and support a vibrant elder-care environment. Join a team dedicated to high standards and ongoing training to keep skills sharp and residents safe.

Responsibilities

  • Pass medication and assist with self-administration as required by state law
  • Guide and support the Med Techs on their shift
  • Lead the Care Partners on their shift as a role model of kindness, accountability, and collaboration
  • Participate in interviewing new Care Partners and Med Techs as needed
  • Provide the orientation of new Care Partners and Med Techs
  • Provide training and re-training of Care Partners and Med Techs as required by state regulations or as needed to maintain skills
  • Coach team members to be the best they can be in collaboration with the Administrator
  • Work in collaboration with the RCC and Administrator for scheduling
  • Supervise the storage, distribution, and discontinuation of residents’ medication
  • Maintain continued compliance with the policies and procedures of Compass Senior Living, including those as outlined in the Quality Counts Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to elders
  • Assist with meals and feeding as needed
  • Engage in social and recreational activities for residents
  • Communicate with elders, families, other team members, and guests
  • Maintain cleanliness and light housekeeping as needed

What You’ll Do

The Medication Technician/Medication Passer is a leader and a role model for the shift and is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure delivery of medications. The Medication Technician/Medication Passer is key in developing, coordinating, and performing the tasks on the Growth and Wellness plan according to the elder’s preferences and abilities. Leadership responsibilities include ensuring Care partners complete their assignments and supporting and guiding them.

As a Care Partner

You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.

  • You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
  • You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
  • You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
  • You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
  • You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
  • You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
