Job summary

Spring Home at Galloway is seeking a compassionate Medication Technician for the 11 PM–7 AM shift. You will ensure safe medication administration, verify patient identities, monitor vital signs, and maintain proper medication storage and documentation.

You will follow facility policies, participate in ongoing education, and support residents' rights and needs within a supportive team environment. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered by the facility.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered LPN license in the state of New Jersey.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies and procedures governing the administration of medications to residents.
• Report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures to prevent medication errors.
• Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and charts.
• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as ordered by the attending physician.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications.
• Monitor and document residents' vital signs.
• Ensure medications are properly stored and labeled.
• Participate in the development and implementation of residents' comprehensive assessments.
• Attend continuing education programs and in-service training.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient administration of medications to our residents.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Functions

• Follow Facility policies and procedures governing the administering of medications to residents

• Report errors in the administration of medications

• Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs to prevent medication errors

• Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and charts

Medication Administration

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as ordered by the attending physician

• Verify the identity of residents before administering medications

• Monitor and document the vital signs of residents

• Ensure that medications are properly stored and labeled

• Participate in the development and implementation of the resident's comprehensive assessment

Staff Development

• Attend continuing education programs to stay current with changes in the profession

• Participate in in-service training programs and orientation programs

• Stay up-to-date with OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, and other vital training programs

Resident Rights

• Honor resident refusal of treatment requests

• Abide by resident participation in treatment decision-making

• Inform residents of consequences of not participating in prescribed therapy

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in [State]

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Familiarity with nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines
