Job description

Job Title: Medication Access Coordinator (MAC)

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medication Access Coordinator (MAC) to join our team, working Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

The MAC plays an integral role in our centralized ambulatory pharmacy services team, supporting our patients' medication management needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with a team. The MAC serves as the primary liaison for clinical stakeholders regarding pharmacy-based prior authorization and support programs, refill renewals, prescription assistance programs, and assists clinical pharmacists in their daily tasks at their discretion. Additionally, the MAC oversees workload management and balances quality improvement projects.

Given the remote nature of this role, we provide the necessary technology and training to ensure employees are proficient and productive, regardless of work location. Employees must designate a private, safe, ergonomic, and distraction-free workspace within their remote environment.

This role offers the opportunity to improve patient access and contribute to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of our communities. Are you ready to bring your talent to our team and help advance healthcare?

Experience Requirements
  1. High school diploma required.
  2. College degree preferred.
  3. Completion of an accredited or Board-certified Pharmacy Technician or Medical Assistant training program, or equivalent experience in institutional or retail pharmacy or medical office settings is highly desirable.
  4. One year of experience in a medical setting is required; prior pharmacy experience is a plus.
  5. Epic experience is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented Medical Assistant or Pharmacy Technician confident in their clinical abilities, with effective communication skills, especially in supporting patients and addressing their questions or issues. We seek candidates who possess relevant skills and competencies, along with positive attitudes, empathy, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for this work.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, military service, genetic information, or other protected statuses.
