Job Summary and Qualifications

This position involves processing medication refill requests, assisting patients with medication orders, troubleshooting, and supporting clinical staff, pharmacy, providers, and patients regarding medication management.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing warm, professional, and helpful customer service, maintaining a clean and orderly environment, and supporting teamwork.
• Supporting medication management through efficient ordering, navigating prescription processes, troubleshooting issues, and prioritizing tasks.
• Serving as a resource for medication-related questions, staying updated on pharmaceutical information, and understanding patient financial responsibilities.
• Escalating concerns appropriately, minimizing medication errors, maintaining accurate medication lists, and educating patients.
• Assisting with technical issues related to medication management within EMR, participating in quality initiatives, and training colleagues.

Education

• College degree, Pharmacy Tech training, or Medical Office Assistant program graduate.

Experience

• Required: Pharmacy Technician certification with 1+ years of experience or Georgia Nursing license. Alternatively, a Medical Assistant with 3 years’ medication management training.
• Preferred: Retail pharmacy tech background or physician practice medication management experience.

Certification/LICENSE

• Required: CPR certification. Additional certifications may be necessary depending on the practice.
• Preferred: Certified Pharmacy Tech, RN, or LPN.
