Job summary

Trinity Health in Mason City, IA is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time rotating shift. You will obtain accurate admission medication histories through face-to-face interviews, capturing prescriptions, OTCs, and herbal products, and documenting allergies and reactions.

You will document carefully, liaise with providers as needed, and ensure compliance with health information laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be registered pharmacy technician or eligible for trainee registration in Iowa; completed prior to start.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 6 months of employment.
• Provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) status prior to employment or within 60 days of hire.
• Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within 6 months and renews every 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Obtain admission medication history via face-to-face interview including prescriptions, OTCs, and herbal products; document allergies and reactions.
• Communicate effectively and conduct medication history interviews professionally and non-invasively.
• Problem solve and apply critical thinking to obtain admission medication lists for diverse patients.
• Apply advanced computer skills to gather information and document the medication list.
• Know and adhere to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety, and medical information.
