Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Medication History Technician (MHT) at the Ocean Springs Hospital to accurately obtain, document, and verify a patient’s medication history at admission, transfer, or discharge. You will work under a pharmacist's supervision and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to ensure medication accuracy.

Ideal candidates possess a high school diploma, completed pharmacy technician training, Mississippi technician registration, and ASHP

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
• Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician Registration from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
• ASHP Medication History-Taking Certification within 90 days of hire/assignment.
• Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Obtain, document, and verify a patient’s medication history upon admission, transfer, or discharge.
• Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure medication accuracy and reduce adverse drug events according to procedures and policies.
