Job summary

428 Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to assist residents with medications and daily care in a Florida community setting.

The CMT will ensure safe administration of prescribed medications, maintain MAR records, and support ADLs, dining, and activities as part of a team dedicated to resident well‑being and confidentiality. Position requires compliance with state/federal guidelines and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• CMT must meet federal and state certification requirements.
• High school diploma or GED
• Able to read, write and follow oral and written communication
• Must speak and understand English
• Positive attitude toward residents with mental illness and elderly
• Emotional maturity and sensitivity to residents' needs
• CPR and first aid certification preferred or state requirements
• Must be neat and organized
• Must be computer literate
• Must pass Criminal Background Screening

Responsibilities

• Count and sign approved narcotics forms with approved personnel before accepting medication keys.
• Notify Resident Care Director when supply of medications is low.
• Verify medicines against MAR and report discrepancies.
• Store medications properly and separate lotions/ointments from oral meds.
• Inspect medications weekly and remove expired ones.
• Ensure MARs are up to date during changes.
• Provide personal care and ADL support to residents as needed.
• Assist with dining room duties and activities as assigned.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and proper documentation.
