Medication Care Aide — Part-Time AM Shift

Job summary

Vivie is seeking a Part-Time AM Shift caregiver to administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and to document dosing times for residents. The role requires following state and federal guidelines and may include standard CNA duties during morning hours.

Starting pay is $23.50-$25.70 per hour, depending on experience. The caregiver will respond to resident needs, keep medications secure, and escalate any issues to the nursing staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care or caregiving preferred.
• Ability to follow directions from licensed nursing staff.
• Strong attention to safety and medication handling.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications to patients/residents under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Documents for all medications provided, including correct medication, dosage, and time given to correct residents.
• Immediately notify nurse of any medication errors or refusals by resident to take medication.
• Maintains and controls all medications, ensuring security and compliance with state and federal guidelines for administering, dispensing, storage and disposal of medications.
• Responds to resident call lights and notifies nurse of any care needs or changes in condition.
• Observes and reports unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to management.
• Performs all Certified Nursing Assistant functions as required (feeding, lift and transfer, ADL’s, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
