Job summary

South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield, SD is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to administer medications and support individuals with developmental disabilities through training, behavior management, and therapy programs.

This PRN position requires a current SD Medication Certification or prior experience passing medications, and a background check and drug screen are required. Lifting up to 50 lbs and varied shifts are possible, with employment focused on person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must complete the South Dakota Medication Certification course.
• A licensed nurse may delegate administration of medications to unlicensed personnel with high school education or equivalent and who are registered with the Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments to clients.
• Maintain accurate medication records and ensure dispensing accuracy.
• Accompany individuals to appointments as needed and provide support and motivation.
