Job summary

Deercreekseniorliving is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our team and provide safe, compassionate medication administration within a warm senior living community. You will observe residents during dosing, document effects and any adverse reactions, and communicate concerns to the Wellness Director and care team.

Credentials include a high school diploma or GED; CPR certification preferred; and prior direct care experience per facility policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, socialization, cognition, and health.
  • Encourage independence, support resident choice, and preserve dignity through professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and facility requirements.

• Observe the resident taking medication, note effects including any unexpected or adverse reactions, and correctly document required information in the medication administration records.

• Communicate any concerns or observations to the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or designated personnel.

• Support residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health.

• Encourage resident independence, support resident choice, and preserve resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.

Critical Success Factors
  • Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with state regulatory requirements and facility expectations.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date medication certification requirements in accordance with state regulations.
  • Demonstrate compassion and empathy in personal interactions.
  • Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Be self‑supervising, self‑motivating, and willing to collaborate as a team member.
  • Show adaptability, flexibility, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple demands concurrently.
  • Demonstrate problem‑solving abilities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.
  • Prior direct care experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in medication administration or direct care settings.
  • Additional certifications relevant to senior living or healthcare.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude toward residents.
