Job summary

Abernethy Laurels in Newton, NC, seeks a dedicated Medication Aide for a full-time 3-11pm shift to provide timely medication administration under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Must hold current CNA and Certified Medication Aide certifications in Skilled Nursing, with at least 3 months of basic nursing experience and completion of the approved training and orientation program.

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Medication Aide to join our team in delivering essential care to residents in our skilled-nursing facility. This position is Full-Time, weekday 3p-11p shift.

M ust have a current CNA and Certified Medication Aide in Skilled Nursing certification

Duties:

The Medication Aide provides medication administration for residents in assigned area in a timely manner following all policies and procedures of the Medication Administration guidelines and under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with physician’s orders, company and industry standards and federal and state regulations. Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

Administer medication as directed in the Medication Administration policies and procedures except injections, medication given by g-tube, j-tube or nasogastic tubes and IV medications.

High School graduate or G.E.D.

Minimum of three (3) months work experience in basic nursing procedures for nursing assistants preferred.

Successfully completed the state approved training program including competency evaluation and facility orientation program.

Successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program and has current certification with no allegations of abuse or neglect and current in required in-services.

Minimum age of 18 years or older is required for this position due to Department of Labor regulations
