Responsibilities

• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing procedures or programs to determine what medication errors occur and how to prevent them.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing forms, charts, and reports.
• Maintain a friendly, productive relationship with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Document and remove medications when discontinued by the attending physician.
• Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed and report refusals.
