This non-exempt position pays $24.00–$28.00 per hour and includes duties such as documenting administration, monitoring for adverse reactions, maintaining medication security, and collaborating with the Wellness Director on quality improvements; 12-hour shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must satisfy all state health, licensure/certification, and background requirements.
• Must complete CPR and First Aid certifications if not current, plus any additional licensing requirements.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus state-required education (such as Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant).
• Knowledge of safe medication practices, with a medication error rate of 2% or below.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medications as prescribed by physician orders.
• Document administration, effectiveness and adverse actions or side effects of medications.
• Observe and report symptoms related to medication interactions and adverse drug reactions.
• Maintain proper storage and security of medications, including narcotics.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart/supply area.
• Assist the Director of Wellness with Quality Improvement activities.
• Obtain and report vital signs and document resident issues in the medical record.
• Notify supervisor of changes in resident status or condition.
• Attend mandatory meetings and maintain confidentiality of information.
