Job summary

Hayesville House is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. This role emphasizes patient safety, accurate documentation, and timely monitoring of health status.

Key duties include medication administration, monitoring for side effects, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to ensure the highest standard of resident care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Previous healthcare experience, particularly in senior care or assisted living (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of concerns.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.
• Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety to ensure high standard of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
