Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
• Three years’ experience in Specialty Pharmacy or retail/pharmacy settings.
• Strong communication, in person, on the phone and electronically.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with a large, diverse population including clinics.
• Knowledge of pharmacy policies, storage, safety, and patient privacy.
• Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines in a complex environment.
• Ability to train others to use clinical documentation applications and pharmacy software.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily technician workflows and assigns tasks.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, onboarding, competency assessments, and performance evaluations for technicians.
• Ensures compliance with hospital, departmental and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitates cross-functional communication among pharmacists, technicians, and clinics.
• Coaches and trains staff; conducts training and competency development.
• Precepts learners and coordinates training for new staff and residents.
• Develops staff development and continuing education for technicians.
