Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PHAT certification from State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) by PTCB required.
• Preferred: 2 years pharmacy technician experience or 1 year experience performing prior authorizations or refill renewals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with third-party insurance, clinical staff, and patients to process prior authorization requests within prescribed timelines.
• Compiles clinical documentation for prior authorizations (e.g., progress notes, labs, diagnoses codes, previously tried therapies, ASO criteria, doctor visits).
• Directly enrolls eligible patients into manufacturer patient assistance and co-pay programs; inform patients about health insurance coverage options.
• Accurately obtains and records patients' home medication lists, allergies, immunizations and medical diagnoses.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
