Job summary

Are you passionate about the Medicare population, looking for an opportunity to work in sales with the ability to directly impact your own income potential? Do you have a track record of building trusting relationships in the community and exceeding expectations? If so, we are looking for licensed, highly motivated, and self-driven individuals to join our team.

In this field position, you will build community relationships, drive self-generated sales, and meet sales goals and metrics while working independently. You will interact with Humana’s customers, external business partners, and the community through face-to-face, virtual, and telephonic interactions. Face-to-face activities include grassroots marketing, community events, and visiting prospects in their homes. Our Medicare Sales Field Agents sell individual health plan products and educate beneficiaries on our services in a field setting. Additional products include Life, Annuity, Indemnity, Dental, Vision, Prescription, and more.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to have daily face-to-face interactions with prospective members in the field is required
  • Active Health Insurance license or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Experience with technology, including laptops, mobile applications, CRM tools, or sales/marketing resources
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Outlook
  • This role requires a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance (at least 100/300/100 limits). A Motor Vehicle Report will be conducted.
  • Internet speed of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload is recommended; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection preferred.
  • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections require leadership approval.
  • For associates in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota working from home, a bi-weekly internet expense stipend is provided.
  • Work from a dedicated, interruption-free space to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory/County


Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Life and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with TEAMS and PowerPoint
  • Community engagement experience through service, organizations, or volunteerism
  • Experience selling Medicare products
  • Bilingual in English and another language
  • Experience with public speaking and presentations

Additional Information

  • Language proficiency assessments are required for non-English speakers, conducted by an outside vendor.
  • Applicants may need to provide their social security number for leader review, via a secure email from Humana@myworkday.com.

Schedule: Flexibility is essential; meetings may occur evenings and weekends. Training is mandatory for the first 3-4 weeks.

Interview Process: We use HireVue for initial screening. Selected candidates will receive a text invitation for a 5-10 minute video prescreen, with next steps communicated if successful.

Pay Range

The estimated annual salary for full-time employment is $31,800 - $43,800, with potential commissions based on performance.
