Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 18 months of hospital reimbursement experience or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations and company reimbursement policies.
• Knowledge of DSH surveys, state payment methodologies, CMS-13, 437B, revenue recognition, and Medicare payment systems.
• Detailed working knowledge of software applications and reports.
• Ability to analyze and reconcile data.
• Ability to conduct independent research accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
• Ability to communicate technical information upstream.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Medicare and Medicaid cost reports with supervision.
• Handle more complex areas of cost reports over time.
• Participate in external audits and reviews to protect company interests.
• Calculate and account for audit impacts while contesting disputed adjustments.
• Support customers in identifying and resolving reimbursement issues.
• Monitor compliance with Medicare regulations and company reimbursement policies.
• Complete functional and special projects.
• Understand key cost report drivers and operational impacts.
• Analyze and reconcile data for assigned cost reports and projects.
• Use technology applications and company resources to accomplish department goals.
• Maintain knowledge through CMS, state hospital associations, MediRegs, and other industry resources.
• Work with minimal direction on day-to-day responsibilities.
• Share information and resources with peers.
