Job summary

Eastridge is seeking a Medical Writer II to support our client's team in Aliso Viejo, CA. This temporary position (~6 months) offers 8- to 5-? hours; on-site schedule, and a focus on ophthalmology-related documentation.

You will translate data into study reports and collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in clinical research or medical writing, with strong regulatory knowledge and excellent writing/editing skills.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in clinical research, medical writing, life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
• Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, medical terminology, and scientific principles.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for clinical/regulatory documentation.
• Experience with CSRs, protocols, publications, abstracts, or posters preferred.
• Ophthalmology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clinical study reports (CSRs) by translating data tables, listings, and figures into study outcome reports, ensuring data consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Translate clinical study synopses into full protocols, collaborating with project team members for input and accuracy.
• Interpret data and apply scientific, regulatory, and compliance knowledge to document preparation.
• Review clinical data and documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency in style and quality.
• Conduct medical/scientific literature searches to support documentation.
• Track abstract submission deadlines and key dates for ophthalmology-related scientific conferences.
• Coordinate with Clinical and R&D teams on conference abstract submissions.
• Prepare and edit presentations, slide decks, posters, and other scientific communications.
• Assist in developing figures, tables, and graphical content for publications and presentations.
• Manage multiple writing assignments and prioritize deliverables to meet project timelines.
• Participate in project team meetings, providing documentation status updates.

Job Title: Medical Writer II

Location: Aliso Viejo, CA

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $35.38 – $44.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 6 months

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (100% Onsite)

Requirements

• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills


• Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex scientific information


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams


• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Public Health, or related field required; advanced degree (MS, PharmD, OD, PhD, MPH) preferred
