Eastridge is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in Carlsbad, CA on an onsite, ongoing contract. You will handle DME/DMEPOS, orthotic, and prosthetic claims, ensuring accuracy and payer compliance to keep patient care moving smoothly.

The role requires hands-on medical billing experience, eligibility checks, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule and full-time hours onsite.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit DME/DMEPOS, orthotic, and prosthetic claims for accuracy and payer compliance.
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits, and secure authorizations and pre-authorizations.
• Review supporting documentation with HIM to resolve missing information before claims go out.
• Identify basic denial reasons, resubmit corrected claims, and escalate complex issues.
• Answer billing questions from patients, carriers, and internal teams while meeting productivity goals.

As a Medical Billing Specialist on the Revenue Cycle Management team, you'll make sure claims are clean, accurate, and paid, which keeps patient care moving without delays. Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit DME/DMEPOS, orthotic, and prosthetic claims for accuracy, completeness, and payer compliance
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits, and secure authorizations and pre-authorizations through insurance carrier portals
• Review supporting documentation and partner with Health Information Management (HIM) to resolve missing information before claims go out
• Identify basic denial reasons, resubmit corrected claims, and elevate complex billing or payer issues
• Answer billing questions from patients, insurance carriers, and internal teams while meeting claim-processing, accuracy, and productivity goals

Qualifications

Required

• Previous medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience
• Hands-on experience with insurance eligibility, benefits verification, authorizations, carrier portals, and claim submission, including an understanding of denials and payer requirements
• Strong computer and data-entry skills, and the ability to work fully onsite in Carlsbad, CA

Preferred

• DME/DMEPOS, orthotics, prosthetics, or similar medical billing experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10, medical terminology, basic anatomy, and orthopedic diagnoses
