Job summary

Daniels Health in Houston, TX is seeking a Plant Operator for our medical waste treatment facility. You will manage container intake, weigh containers, and operate autoclave and Washsmart systems while ensuring accurate paperwork and PPE compliance.

The full-time role offers steady hours on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) and benefits from day one. A can-do attitude, reliability, and teamwork are essential to succeed in this varied, hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Warehouse-labor experience with repetitive lifting 50–75 lb containers
• Willingness to pass a 5-panel urine drug screening
• Willingness to pass a 7-year background check
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with PPE and standing for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Lift containers and push a heavy cart
• Weigh incoming medical waste containers
• Load/operate the autoclave machine

Job description

We are looking to hire a Plant Operator for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Houston, TX. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal Plant Operator is an individual who likes variety in their work and can think through practical problems.

What will your job involve?

• Lifting 55lbs and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifitng of 50lbs to 75lb containers!!)
• Willingness to take a 5 panel urine drug screening
• Willingness to take a 7 year background check
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
• Proven longevity with employers
• Can-do attitude!!
