Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking an enthusiastic Class A Hazmat driver for our Fresno, CA plant to collect sharps and medical waste and deliver exceptional customer service daily.

The role offers autonomy, stable hours, and opportunities for overtime with a modern fleet and comprehensive safety training. You will operate up to 53-foot trailers, log per DOT rules, and support our healthcare customers across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Class A Hazmat license with a clean driving record and valid medical card.
• Must run out-of-state routes and work full-time ~40 hours per week.
• Pass Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse (7-year review).
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
• Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers or straight trucks.
• Strong customer service and a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours and roadside inspections.
• Confident in a road check level 1–3.
• Proven longevity in past employment.
• On-time delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive over the road – 10 days.
• Safely collect, deliver and store medical waste containers at customer locations.

• Drop and hook with minimal live unload.
• Operate 26–53 ft trucks safely.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver with a Class A Hazmat license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across the Fresno, CA Plant. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained. What will your job involve?

• Driving over the road - 10 days
• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Drop and hook (minimal live unload)
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Sleeping in a sleeper tractor and getting $35 a meal per day
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting

What are we looking for?

• Class A Haz license with a CLEAN driving record and VALID medical card required!
• Required to run out of state routes
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Heavy lifting!
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
• Customer service skills
• A flexible, can‑do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)

• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
