Job summary

Virtua Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Medical Transport Operator for the Voorhees location. You will operate ambulances and related vehicles, ensuring safe, on-time patient movement and exceptional customer service for 911 and inter-facility requests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, NJ license with a clean record, and CPR certification; EVOC is preferred. This position is full-time, on-site, with a 3rd shift and 36 total weekly hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s license recognized by the State of New Jersey and clean driving record.
• Current CPR (professional rescuer) certification and Mobility Assistance Vehicle-Operator, EVOC preferred.
• Previous experience operating medical transport vehicles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate medical transport vehicles safely, defensively, and courteously.
• Assist EMS and coordinate 911 and inter-facility requests for service.
• Complete all required paperwork and ensure on-time transports.
• Perform vehicle and equipment checks at the start of each shift and maintain inventory.

Job Summary:

Responsible for operating medical transport vehicles including mobile assistance vehicles and ambulances, providing outstanding customer service, and facilitating safe and punctual patient movement and transportation. Assists emergency medical technicians in the facilitation of both 911 and inter-facility requests for service

Position Responsibilities:

Operates medical transport vehicles in a safe, defensive and courteous manner. Demonstrates knowledge of motor vehicle law-adheres to driving policies at all times, ensures the vehicle is fueled and operable and reports problems in a timely manner.

Completes all required documentation and assures all transports are on time.

Consistently practices safe patient movement, loading, unloading, and securing wheelchairs in MAV.

Communicates with patient, caregivers and family members in a compassionate manner.

Performs vehicle and equipment check at the start of each shift. Ensures that the vehicle and ready room are sufficiently stocked and ready for service. Completes supply inventory as requested by department management.

Maintains all Virtua owned equipment and property in a safe, clean and secure manner.

Provide assistance to emergency medical technicians during transport.

Position Qualifications Required:

Required Experience:

Previous experience operating medical transport vehicles preferred.

Required Education:

High School diploma or GED

Training / Certification / Licensure:

Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to the professional rescuer level, Mobility Assistance Vehicle-Operator, and EVOC- PREFERRED

Must have valid Driver’s license recognized by the State of New Jersey and driving record must meet insurance company standards/requirements.

Must complete yearly PPD, Fit Test, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA and Safety Day training by the date set forth by the department.
