Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Inc. in Cranberry Township is seeking a friendly Telephone Receptionist to be the welcoming voice of our practice. This role supports all office locations for scheduling and call transfers, reporting to the Cranberry Twp., PA branch.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in medical receptionist or call center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using EHR software
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and general office information
• Accurately collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
• Coordinate communication between patients, families, and clinical staff
• Process prescription refill requests and route messages to appropriate providers
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Field emergency calls and perform triage together with the provider on-site to determine urgency of care

Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Inc. is a trusted specialty eye care practice serving children and families in the greater Pittsburgh region for over 50 years. Our team of physicians and optometrists is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality vision care for our patients young and old, from routine eye exams to complex strabismus treatments. We also perform surgeries each month off-site at local hospitals and out-patient surgical centers. Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner

Eligibility Requirements:

• Prior experience in a medical or healthcare receptionist or call center role preferred
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) or medical scheduling software
• Strong multitasking ability in a busy, patient-focused environment
• Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when working with pediatric patients and families
• Knowledge of medical insurance, referrals, and basic billing processes a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required
