Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures by performing required checks, analyzing data, troubleshooting out-of-range results, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to policies.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel or manufacturers as needed.
• Ensures all lab procedures comply with safety regulations, including PPE usage and safety plan adherence.
• Communicates updates on unusual patient results, instrument malfunctions, and quality control issues to staff.
• Assist with proficiency testing and data collection required for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and phlebotomy duties as required to support patient care.
• Collaborates with team to ensure shift duties and department responsibilities are completed efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
