Job Description

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests, prepares specimens for microscopic examination, and operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Performs a variety of tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude. Conducts routine and specialized moderate and high complexity tests on blood and body fluid specimens with minimal supervision. Ensures accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to quality control protocols. Performs instrument checks and preventative maintenance. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulations. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Assists in all laboratory areas as needed to maintain patient care.
