Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
  • Examine and analyze body fluids and cells; match blood for transfusions.
  • Maintain blood products according to American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements.
  • Analyze chemical content of fluids and test for drug levels in the blood.
  • Prepare specimens, count cells, and identify abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Culture body fluids and tissue samples to detect microorganisms.
  • Determine concentrations of compounds such as glucose and cholesterol.
  • Ensure test accuracy by evaluating results, developing procedures, and monitoring programs.
  • Follow universal safety precautions to handle biohazardous materials.
  • Order supplies, maintain a safe environment, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain patient records, operate and maintain equipment, and assist in department management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Certification by AMT, ASCP, or NCA.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Technologist.
  • Recent clinical experience in direct patient care, with at least 6 months in the last year.
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shift changes and operational needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident residing in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Department of Homeland Security clearance.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Work typically performed in an office environment.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods.
