Qualifications

• A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
• A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required; license must be applied for presently.
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas: Generalist, Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform all approved laboratory procedures in assigned areas of licensure.
• Exercise independent judgment under minimum to moderate supervision.
• Interpret results and report timely according to patient needs.
• Determine acceptability of results and seek assistance from senior staff when needed.
• Record and document corrective action per policy and CAP guidelines.
• Follow best practice methodologies and laboratory compliance policies.
• Ensure proper operation of high-quality test performance with daily maintenance and inventory awareness.
• Practice infection control with PPE and hand hygiene; maintain a clean work area.
