Coquille Valley Hospital in Coquille, OR, is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) for the night Mon-Thurs schedule. The MT will perform and document laboratory analyses, operate LIS, and ensure quality control across tests and reagents.
Requires ASCP or equivalent certification, a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field (or 12-month internship) and 5 years of experience; strong maintenance and safety practices are essential.
The Medical Technologist produces and documents laboratory test results.
Responsibilities for this position include the following tasks: Performs appropriately requested analysis and examinations on all types of specimens received. Demonstrates proficient utilization of the Laboratory Information System, and document testing activities and results. Utilizes and operates sophisticated laboratory instruments and equipment. Follows appropriate instrument and equipment maintenance procedures to ensure equipment is in good working order. Participate in evaluating new test procedures and new analyses. Complies with all requirements of Oregon Department of Health and OSHA.
